An Ottoman Heads to The Pink House...
As some of you may know, especially if you have been following @sarahbeechotto, I have been working with The Pink House on a beautiful storage ottoman for her bedroom. Emily and her blog at www.pinkhouse.co.uk is a wonder of interiors inspiration, travel ideas and fabulous lifestyle photography….I could write more but I would like you to read with me a little while longer;)
I was thrilled when Emily from @pinkhouseliving approached me to make a storage ottoman for her home. Our initial chat was about size and shape and what was going to work best for the end of her bed. Emily wanted something that would provide plenty of storage and fit in the space such that the wardrobe doors at the end of the room could still be fully opened. The Elizabeth (a Sarah Beech Ottoman that is blanket box in style) was the obvious choice and we tweaked the dimensions to make it slightly slimmer. When Emily mentioned that she was thinking of a House of Hackney fabric, I was hugely excited as I am a big fan of the brand and all the beautiful textiles that they produce. As a supporter of British-made fabrics, House of Hackney are always on my mind when clients are thinking about rich velvets for their stotrage ottomans. Emily and I had a few conversations about fabric choices with the final choice being the Artemis Azure velvet. We then looked at the colour for the lining and chose Candy Pink - totally appropriate for The Pink House. I knew we would have a little spare fabric, so I suggested making a cushion as a great way to make the most of this beautiful velvet. Fast forward a few weeks and the storage ottoman and cushion have now been delivered to their new home. What was really fun for me on the delivery day was that the storage ottoman looked equally wonderful at the side of Emily’s kitchen table as a bench, as it does now, in its permanent home at the end of her bed.
